Food wastage and Hunger both have reached epidemic proportion in our society. Many individuals and organisations are working to connect the wasted food to the people who are in dire need of it. These organisations collect food from various functions, households etc and through their volunteers distribute it to the hungry. Many restaurants are also making it a habit to either tie up with NGOs or donate the food themselves instead of throwing away the leftovers at the end of the day.

This is a noble cause that you can contribute to without any investment of time or money. All it needs is just a phone call. Next time when you have leftovers from a party or a wedding, call these NGOs which will collect food from your doorstep and distribute it to the needy –
