Virat Kohli’s bat was auctioned for a whopping 11.5 lakhs. The proceeds from the event were donated for the cause of empowerment of underprivileged children and youth.
Virat Kohli Foundation joined hands with Abhishek Bachchan’s All Stars Football Club and arranged a charity football match between Bollywood stars and cricketers on 3 June 2016. The money raised was donated for the relief of drought victims.
He has also made personal and financial gestures towards other social endeavours. In April, the cricketer visited the Abhalmaya old age home in Mumbai in the midst of the hectic IPL season. He interacted with the residents and brought them much cheer. He even donated his earnings from an IPL match to the charity. His foundation has joined hands with ABIL Foundation to extend financial support to this old age home till the end of 2016
