The matter!!
According to a report in Hindustan Times, staff of a Swarnamoyee Sasmal Sikhsa Niketan school in West Midnapore district of West Bengal had written to him, seeking financial help two years ago.
What he did?
He donated Rs 76 lakh to the school from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund. The school was handed the funds last financial year, and now the construction of a library, a laboratory and a common room for girls are in full swing added the report.
School’s response?
“The realisation hasn’t yet sunk in. We have no words to express our gratitude,” – Uttamkumar Mohanty, Principal of school

As the school plans to invite the batting maestro for the inaugural ceremony of the newly installed facilities.
